Preschool Theatre School 
January 7, 2012 - March 10, 2012

Children ages 3 – 5 create, learn and grow in our ON STAGE PRESCHOOL PLAYERS performing arts program. Students can choose creative dramatics or dance as they constructively play while learning to express themselves physically and emotionally. The ON STAGE PRESCHOOL PLAYERS have three Open House performances.

Dance - ages 4-5
African Dance, Saturdays 10-11:30am
Jazz Dance, Saturdays 11:30-12:30pm

 

         

Storytelling Class 
3 yr old Creative Dramatics - Saturdays, 10-11am
4-5 yr old Creative Dramatics - Sat, 11:30-12:30pm
African Folktales - Saturdays, 10-11:30am

 

The ON STAGE PRESCHOOL PLAYERS Pre-dance class has fun as they sway, swing and jump to the rhythms of ballet, jazz and African dance. Students feel good as they learn and build rote-learning skills, practice use of creativity, verbal skills and ensemble dancing. In addition, age appropriate storybook time, theater games, drama and improvisation exercises promote the story telling of dance, confidence, strength and endurance needed to prepare them for formal dance class. 
 
The ON STAGE PRESCHOOL PLAYERS Storytelling class learns to tell stories culminating with African Folktales. Through storybook time, theater games, drama and improvisation exercises, students build on rote-learning skills, practice use of creativity, verbal skills and ensemble playing. Age appropriate movement exercises promote physical confidence, strength, endurance, and the use of motor skills need for coordination. Introduction to African dance is offered in the Spring 6-week session.

Preteen Theatre School
January 7, 2012 - April 21, 2012

Children ages 5 ½ to 11 years old prepare for the stage and life in our PRETEEN PLAY TO WIN Performing Arts Program.  Students can choose acting (ages 8-11), dance (ages 8 – 11), creative dramatics (ages 5 ½ - to 7), or pre-dance (ages 5 ½ - 7) as they have fun playing and expressing themselves physically and emotionally while learning performing techniques.  The PRETEEN PLAY TO WIN program has two (2) performance opportunities.

Creative Dramatics - ages 5.5-7
Saturdays, 1-3:30pm
         
Younger Dance - ages 5.5-7
Saturdays, 1-3:30pm

The PRETEEN PLAY TO WIN Acting class has fun learning to tell stories and create characters through theater games, drama and improvisation exercises. Students gain confidence and discipline as they are introduced to acting, movement, theater etiquette, project-oriented vocal arts and technical theater.
 
The PRETEEN PLAY TO WIN Dance class has fun as they leap, jump and soar to the rhythms of ballet, jazz and movement. Students feel good and gain confidence and discipline as they learn to tell stories through dance are introduced to dance and theater etiquette, project-oriented vocal arts and technical theater.

Youth Theatre School 
January 7, 2012 - April 22, 2012
Saturdays, 1-4pm

Teens (ages 12 – 18) take their talents to soar to success on the stage and in life in our TAKE WINGS AND FLY performing arts program. Students can choose acting, dance or vocal arts as they have fun creating and expressing themselves physically and emotionally while learning performing techniques. THE TEEN TAKE WINGS AND FLY program has two (2) performance opportunities.

Acting - ages 12-18

         

Vocal Arts - ages 12-18 

THE TEEN TAKE WINGS AND FLY Acting class has fun with theater games, drama and improvisation exercises. Students gain confidence and discipline as they are introduced to acting, speech/articulation, movement, theater etiquette, project-oriented vocal arts and technical theater.
 
THE TEEN TAKE WINGS AND FLY Vocal Arts class has fun vocalizing and harmonizing in group vocal arts classes that also introduces movement, theater etiquette and technical theater. Students gain confidence and discipline as they are introduced to vocal technique, music theory, solo presentation and vocal improvisation.

 

Adult Theatre School 
January 7, 2012 - March 20, 2012
Tuesdays, 6:30-9:30pm

Adults (ages 18 and over) in our TAKING THE SPOTLIGHT BASIC performing arts program for adults have fun creating and expressing themselves physically and emotionally while learning performing techniques. THE TAKING THE SPOTLIGHT BASIC program has one (1) performance opportunities.

Acting Basics - ages 18 and over

         

 

THE ADULT TAKING THE SPOTLIGHT - BASIC Acting class has fun as they are introduced to theater. Adults sessions include:
·         Classes – Theater games, drama and improvisation exercises, and monologue and scene study. Students gain confidence, discipline and learn the professional standards of theater as they are introduced to speech/articulation, movement, theater etiquette and technical theater.
·         Professional development seminars which can include but are not limited to: audition practice, introduction to stage combat, acting for film, dance for musical theatre.
